The Ascon College Developer System

The Ascon College Developer System is a complete Strategic Planning, Self-Assessment, Continuing Professional Development and Appraisal system for FE and Sixth Form Colleges, which puts your staff at the core of developmental planning. It was designed in response to the heavy burden of paperwork faced by colleges and the need to link all aspects of staff development analysis into central planning.

The System provides managers with planning tools for the short, medium and long term. It enables them to align objectives at individual, departmental and whole college levels, and to plan strategies to meet training needs. This ensures that all staff action and development takes place in line with college targets and that the organisation is constantly aware of and responsive to the training needs of all staff.

Providing a flexible framework for making the most of staff learning processes in your college, the System covers every aspect of Staff Development, including full CPD Portfolios, Appraisal, Lesson Observations, Induction, Probation, Training Activities and their evaluation and Training Needs analysis.

If the college wishes, all staff can have secure access to their own records and can manage their own CPD Portfolio on the network.

The System gives managers a powerful range of analytical tools, providing a constant monitoring of value for money. There are mechanisms for analysing Training Activities and their Evaluation, analysing Lesson Observations across the college and even the work of Consultants and supply staff. Other mechanisms track the impact of training on individual appraisal objectives.  The system also fully supports the implementation of Investors in People, before and after Recognition.
