Who can use the School Developer System?

The Ascon School Developer System has tracking, analytic and strategic features for senior managers and CPD, performance management and planning features for middle managers. All staff can access their own records and input data where appropriate.

Middle Managers

The Ascon School Developer substantially supports and strengthens the role of middle managers responsible for CPD and performance management. The software handles the detail of organising training activities and review processes, allowing middle managers to concentrate on developing their staff. Due to the clarity of the security structure, the System has the benefit of improving the performance and accountability of the middle management layer.

Senior Managers

The Ascon School Developer encourages managers responsible at a strategic level for staff development, performance management and planning to clearly delegate responsibility to other managers and team leaders. The security system is customised to reflect the performance management structure of your school. Additional screen Authorities can also be allocated in any combination to selected managers with specific responsibilities of Staff Development, Induction, Probation monitoring, Self-review and Planning. Strategic managers then have at their fingertips a wide range of powerful analytic and organisational planning tools, benefiting from the activities of all users.

Strategic managers also have an overview of all the planning at the individual and departmental levels, as well as the evidence base for the school planning cycle. The criteria by which data is analysed can be customised and altered on an annual basis.

Non-Managers

The software supports a climate where all staff, both permanent and temporary, can take responsibility for their own development. All staff can easily access and maintain a comprehensive portfolio of all their Continuing Professional Development activities and can also contribute ideas and evaluate development across the school. Staff can access and print their full CPD Portfolio at the click of a button. All staff have a Personal Log, where they can record professional development issues and build up evidence for promotion or show that they are ready for further training. The security system and password log-in ensures complete confidentiality of personal data.
